Highest quality is our standard. The latest manufacturing technologies and our long-term experience enable us to offer you the "MetallArt Standard Stairs". With passion for innovative solutions we designed this high-value stairs in an exclusive look.
Glass railings are increasingly used as creative elements in modern architecture. They convey the impression of transparency and therefore contribute to the individual character of the architectural style. Glass railings with wooden or stainless steel handrails are appealing elements of design. MetallArt disposes of a custom-developed assembling technology approved by the German building authorities. It is used to cast the glass panes into the system profile free of constraint forces. Subsequently they are sealed with EPDM rubber profile oder elastic grouting. For the excact alignment there is no need anymore for the glass panes to be wedged by complex clamping. This also applies for steel stairs with glass railings. The construction of the stairs stringers however serves for the accomodation of the glass panes. In case of folded or cantilevered stairs the panes however are fixed directly at the tread steps.
Glass railings are also referred to as Fall Protection Glazing in the context of legal building regulations and must comply with these codes. For the approval procedure, the authorities distinguish between glass railings and all-glass railings and whether they are installed in private or public buildings.
To achieve a maximum of transparency the current architectural style for glass railings clearly emphasises on constructions going without supporting posts. Even the handrail is reduced to the essential by a filigree finish for the upper border of the glass panes. Glass railings by MetallArt are the perfect stage for the material glass.
The classification of glass railings is based on DIN 18008 (stipulations of the Technical Rules for the Use of Fall Protection Glazing - the former TRAV). The different categories depend on the type of balustrade structure and take the rail load into account according to DIN 18065.
