MetallArt in dialogue with Chancellor Angela Merkel
During top-level talks with representatives of the German industry at the International Trade Fair for Craft Trades in Munich on 13 March 2017 Chancellor Angela Merkel informed herself about the company's large portfolio. She was particularly impressed by the 3D-print of a spiralled sculptural staircase with a structurally supporting soffit lining. Using this model managing partner Johannes Schmid illustrated the special features of this innovation.
Federal Award 2017
for outstanding innovative performances
With the soffit lining made of steel MetallArt won the Federal Award 2017. The company uses this architectural trend which, beyond its visual effect, also constitutes significant structural advantages. Enormous savings in material and weight for the stair's supporting structure, work processes which are considerably faster and much more precise, a reduction of costs as well as an improved vibration behaviour are the results offered by this element of design.

Already during the opening event on March 8 MetallArt succeeded in showing its know-how as model company to approximately 850 high-ranking guests from industry, politics and trade. Following the opening speech of Brigitte Zypries, Minister of Economy and Energy, the Bavarian State Minister Ilse Aigner joined a tour to explore the exhibition site. Of course she came to the exhibition stand of MetallArt, too.
